PSG1 lubricant distributor in segment design for automatic progressive lubrication systems
The PSG1 is a progressive lubricant distributor that consists of a base plate and metering disks. The metering discs can be dismantled without detaching the lines as all inlets and outlets are attached to the common base plate. By loosening the internal adjusting screw, two opposite outlets can be combined internally. Up to three outlets can be combined externally using a connector (crossporting). At least three dosing segments (disks) are required per distributor.
Areas of application
- Forming machines (presses)
- Tunnel boring machines
- Paper machines
- General Engineering
Advantages
- Easy to service thanks to outlets located in the base plate, pipes do not have to be dismantled for maintenance work, number of outlets 1 to 20
- Flexible thanks to interchangeable dosing segments
- Can be expanded by adding flow limiters, flow regulators, gear controls and directional solenoid valves
- Efficient due to low pressure loss
- Can be monitored by piston detectors or optical cycle indicators
- Customizable by combining outlets internally and externally
- 3 sizes for the range up to 0.8; 2.5 and 6 l/min
- Increased functional reliability thanks to standard equipment with a check valve (PSG2 and PSG3)
- Increased dosing accuracy by placing the integrated check valves directly after the dosing piston (PSG2 and PSG3)
- Increased corrosion resistance thanks to special versions with anodized base plate and chemically nickel-plated segments (basic version PSG2 and PSG3)
Product description
Depending on the version, the SKF segment distributors from the PSG product series (progressive distributors) are designed for an inlet volume flow of up to 0.8; 2.5 or 6 l/min can be used. The inlet and all outlets of the distributor are located in a common base plate. The dosing segments are attached to the base plate and can be replaced without loosening pipes. The volume flow supplied via a pipeline is distributed forcibly and in a predetermined ratio to the outlets, i.e. to the lubrication points or to downstream progressive distributors. Pistons working in series meter the lubricant into two opposite outlets and control the function of the neighboring piston. The function of the segment distributor can be controlled by monitoring any piston (with a cycle indicator or piston detector) or the inlet volume flow (with gear control only for PSG2 and PSG3). The check valves installed as standard (only on PSG2 and PSG3) offer a high level of functional reliability at high or different back pressures. Likewise, precise allocation and secure blocking behavior are achieved even with internal and external aggregation.
Blind segment
Blind and functional segments can be varied as desired within the size. At least 3 functional segments are required per distributor. If blind segments are installed, two lubricant outlets in the base plate (under the blind segment) must necessarily be closed. If 2 blind segments are arranged next to each other or if blind segments are used as the start or end segment, an increased pressure loss must be expected.
Monitoring
All standard segments can be directly monitored or retrofitted with a piston detector. However, if the piston movement is to be recorded by a cycle indicator (optical stroke control) or with a proximity switch, the segments provided for this purpose must be used.
Attachments
The modular structure of the segment distributor is particularly evident in the range of mounting options. Depending on the size, it can be equipped with the following attachments:
- Quantity limiter
- Flow regulator
- 4/2-way solenoid valve
- 2/2-way solenoid valve
If the inlet volume flow is to be monitored not only visually but also electrically, an upstream gear flow control can be used.
