Lubricant distributor PSG2 in segment design for automatic progressive lubrication systems
The PSG2 is a progressive lubricant distributor consisting of a base plate and metering disks. The metering disks can be removed without disconnecting the lines, as all inlets and outlets are attached to the common base plate. By loosening the internal adjusting screw, two opposite outlets can be combined internally. Externally, up to three outlets can be combined using a connector (crossporting). At least three dosing segments (disks) are required per distributor.
Areas of application
- Forming machines (presses)
- Tunnel boring machines
- paper machines
- General mechanical engineering
Advantages
- Service-friendly due to outlets located in the base plate, pipes do not have to be dismantled for maintenance work, number of outlets 1 to 20
- Flexible due to interchangeable dosing segments
- Can be expanded by attaching flow limiters, flow regulators, gearwheel controls and directional solenoid valves
- Efficient due to low pressure loss
- Can be monitored by piston detectors or optical cycle indicators
- Customizable through the internal and external combination of outlets
- 3 sizes for the ranges up to 0.8, 2.5 and 6 l/min
- Increased functional reliability due to standard equipment with non-return valve (PSG2 and PSG3)
- Increased dosing accuracy due to the placement of the integrated non-return valves directly after the dosing piston (PSG2 and PSG3)
- Increased corrosion resistance thanks to special versions with anodized base plate and chemically nickel-plated segments (basic version PSG2 and PSG3)
Product description
The SKF segment distributors of the PSG product series (progressive distributors) can be used for an inlet volume flow of up to 0.8, 2.5 or 6 l/min, depending on the version. The inlet and all outlets of the distributor are located in a common base plate. The dosing segments are attached to the base plate and can be replaced without having to disconnect any pipes. The volume flow supplied via a pipe is forcibly distributed to the outlets, i.e. to the lubrication points or to downstream progressive distributors, in a predetermined ratio. Pistons working in series meter the lubricant for two opposite outlets and control the function of the adjacent piston. The function of the segment distributor can thus be monitored by monitoring any piston (with cycle indicator or piston detector) or the inlet volume flow (with gearwheel monitoring for PSG2 and PSG3 only). The non-return valves fitted as standard (only for PSG2 and PSG3) offer high functional reliability at high or varying back pressures. This also ensures precise allocation and reliable blocking behavior even with internal and external combination.
Dummy segment
Dummy and functional segments can be varied as required within the size. At least 3 functional segments are required per distributor. If dummy segments are installed, two lubricant outlets in the base plate (under the dummy segment) must be closed. If 2 dummy segments are arranged next to each other or dummy segments are used as start or end segments, increased pressure loss must be expected.
Monitoring
All standard segments can be directly monitored or retrofitted with a piston detector. However, if the piston movement is to be detected by a cycle indicator (optical stroke control) or with a proximity switch, the segments provided for this purpose must be used.
Attachments
The modular design of the segment distributors is particularly evident in the range of attachment options. Depending on the size, it can be equipped with the following ballasts:
- Flow limiters
- Flow regulator
- 4/2-way solenoid valve
- 2/2-way solenoid valve
If the inlet volume flow is to be monitored not only optically but also electrically, an upstream gearwheel flow control can be used.
